With yet another guitar fashioned from the boneyards, he rattles the cages and haunts again.
Whenever I see my "Wall St. CEO" he remarks in some way about my guitars. One day what he said went kinda like this,"Every time I see you it seems like you have built another new guitar!".
"May I ask you to build one for my son?"
I said "Sure". We agreed on a price and I went to work putting together these components.
I wanted to see what I could do to improve the appearance of 26 without losing any of the performance. I wound up with a nice looking guitar that improved in the performance. I used two separate and distinct power amps, connected to the pick-ups. Each pick-up has it's own amplifier. When you play them together you have more volume.
2x volume probably = 1/2 battery life, so I gave them each a separate battery compartment as well.
Built-in amplification employing another new amplifier that I had never used previously. The tone of this guitar is also distinctive. This is the first time that I built my own amplifier. I liked it so much, I put two of them in this project. The amp is not my design but it is open source on the web and I am sure you can find it. I have less problems with the reliability in the new amp by far and the batteries last a long time with it too.
